Friday, (Saxon) Frigedaeg, day of Freya, goddess of marriage.
Saturday, the day of Saturn, the god of time.
The names of the seven days of the week originated with the Egyptian
astronomers. They gave them the names of the sun, moon, and five
planets, viz.: Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.
